Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the Tamil movie tells the story of a spy agent from the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS), whose latest mission has personal ties to his past. Vijay impresses with dual roles, playing both father and son in this action-packed drama.
The cast includes Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth Thyagarajan, Sneha Prasanna, Prabhu Deva, and Premgi Amaren. The film also features special appearances by cricket legend MS Dhoni and Tamil stars Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan.

While the film performed well in Tamil Nadu, it did not perform as expected in the north belt and other south Indian states.
Director Venkat Prabhu in September, shared his thoughts on why GOAT did not connect with Telugu and Hindi-speaking audiences.
According to him, audiences outside Tamil Nadu didn’t resonate with the Vijay-starrer because of its focus on Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In the movie, the climax takes place at Chepauk Stadium during a CSK match, where Vijay’s character has to diffuse a bomb.
Meanwhile, anticipation is building for Vijay’s next project, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. Directed by H Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Thalapathy 69 is slated for release in October 2025.
The film is expected to be Vijay’s final acting project before he transitions to a political career.
