Actor Ajith is currently working on both Vidaa Muyarchi and Good Bad and Ugly. While fans anticipated the latter to arrive for Pongal, the makers of the former announced earlier that the action entertainer Vidaa Muyarchi will hit the screens on Pongal.
However, to the disappointment of fans, the makers of Vidaa Muyarchi, Lyca productions, on the eve of New Year, Tuesday, 31 December 2024, announced that the film will not be released on Pongal due to unavoidable conditions.
The note from the production house read: “Wishing everyone a Happy New Year 2025! Due to unavoidable circumstances, the release of VIDAAMUYARCHI is postponed from PONGAL! Kindly stay tuned for further updates! The wait will be worth it!”

It is written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions. Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra will play major roles.
The film’s shooting commenced in October 2023. It was initially supposed to be helmed by Vignesh Shivan. But he was later replaced by Magizh Thirumeni.
Vidaa Muyarchi boasts an impressive technical crew, including cinematographer Nirav Shah, editor NB Srikanth, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and stunt master Supreme Sundar. Netflix bagged its digital streaming rights.
Ajith and Trisha are collaborating for the fifth time after Ji (2005), Kireedam (2007), Mankatha (2011), and Yennai Arindhaal (2015).
Apart from this the duo are also working together in Good Bad Ugly directed by Adhik Ravichandran. The big-budget movie will have music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The cinematography is handled by Abhinandan Ramanujam. The actor was last seen in Thunivu (2022), directed by H Vinoth. It received mixed reviews.
