It’s been 32 years since Ajith Kumar forayed into the Tamil film industry. Despite the healthy competition from his contemporaries (Vijay, Suriya, and Vikram), Ajith maintained his stardom over these years.
On Saturday, 3 August, the makers of his forthcoming film—Vidaa Muyarchi—celebrated 32 years of Ajith Kumar in Tamil cinema by unveiling a special poster.
The poster features the actor in his trademark salt-and-pepper hairstyle and beard. He looks to be in pain with blood on his face. It read: “32 years of trials, tribulations, and triumphs… perseverance prevails.”
The special poster went viral on social media with Ajith’s fans and cineastes sharing it widely while wishing him luck for his future ventures. Social media was splashed with posters celebrating #32yearsofAjithism.
Vidaa Muyarchi is helmed by director Magizh Thirumeni. It also stars Trisha, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra in key roles. It has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Lyca Productions is backing this big-budget project.
The team recently completed the Azerbaijan schedule, where they shot some high-octane action scenes in Azerbaijan. Several Azerbaijani artistes, too, are acting in the film.
According to PR Suresh Chandra, the film’s shooting is in its final stage and will be wrapped up by the first or second week of August. Later, the patchwork will be finished either in Mumbai or Chennai.
Ajith Kumar is a passionate biker and racer. His films quintessentially have breathtaking action sequences and chases involving racing bikes and sedans, promising a visual feast to his fans.
Vidaa Muyarchi won’t be an exception. In fact, in November 2023, Ajith’s car toppled while the crew was picturising a thrilling car chase. Bigg Boss Tamil-fame Arav, too, was in the vehicle. However, the duo escaped unhurt. The video broke the internet when the makers shared it on social media in April 2024.
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar is also working on Good Bad Ugly under the direction of Adhik Ravichandran. He is said to play a triple role in the flick.
Good Bad Ugly is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. The shooting began in June this year and the flick is slated for release in 2025 for Pongal.
The action entertainer will have music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The cinematography is handled by Abhinandan Ramanujam and the fights are choreographed by Supreme Sundar.
The actor was last seen in Thunivu(2022), directed by H Vinoth. It received mixed reviews.
