Ajith’s last release, an action thriller, Vidaa Muyarchi after completing its theatrical run, is set to hit the small screens.
Vidaa Muyarchi will start streaming on Netflix from 3 March. It will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
Ajith and Trisha collaborated for the fifth time after Ji (2005), Kireedam (2007), Mankatha (2011), and Yennai Arindhaal (2015).
Sharing the news, the OTT platform wrote on X: “Muyarchi thiruvinai aakum. Vidaamuyarchi ulagai vellum. Watch Vidaamuyarchi on Netflix, out 3 March in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada & Malayalam!”

Vidaa Muyarchi is an official adaptation of Breakdown. It was written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions. Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra will play major roles.
The film’s shooting commenced in October 2023. It was initially supposed to be helmed by Vignesh Shivan. But he was later replaced by Magizh Thirumeni.
Vidaa Muyarchi boasts an impressive technical crew, including cinematographer Nirav Shah, editor NB Srikanth, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and stunt master Supreme Sundar. Netflix bagged its digital streaming rights.
Despite being the remake of a film that is almost three decades old, the Ajith-starrer had elements that keep the viewers glued to their seats.
“The road thriller had ample scope for being a riveting thriller with captivating action scenes. However, Vidaa Muyarchi, despite featuring an interesting cast, falls short of delivering an engaging action drama, thanks to slow-paced narration and lack of high moments,” our review read.
