Tamil actor Jayam Ravi has announced his divorce from his wife Aarti. On Monday, 9 September., the actor took to his social media platform X where he shared a statement in both Tamil and English regarding their decision to part ways.
Jayam Ravi said the decision to dissolve their marriage was taken after careful consideration. He requested privacy and understanding during this challenging time for both families.
Rumours of their “divorce” surfaced a couple of months ago when Aarti deleted Jayam Ravi’s photos from her Instagram account. Her move sparked speculation about a “troubled” relationship. The actor’s latest statement confirms their separation.
In his post on X, Jayam Ravi expressed gratitude for the support and understanding of his fans. He stated, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share a deeply personal update with all of you. After much thought, reflection, and discussion, I have made the difficult decision to proceed with the dissolution of my marriage with Aarti. This decision was not made hastily; it stems from personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved.”
The Ponniyin Selvan actor also urged people to respect their privacy. He appealed, “I kindly request all of you to respect our privacy, as well as that of our family members, during this difficult time. Please refrain from making assumptions, rumours, or allegations regarding this matter and allow us to handle it privately.”
Jayam Ravi further reassured his fans of his continued dedication to his craft. “My priority has always been to bring joy and entertainment through my films. I remain committed to my audience and will continue to showcase my best talent. Your constant support means the world to me, and I am grateful for the love you have shown me over the years,” he added.
Jayam Ravi and Aarti were married in June 2009. The couple has two sons—Aarav and Ayaan.
