On the occasion of actor Suriya’s 50th birthday, the makers of his 45th film Karuppu released the teaser of the film, which showed the actor playing a yet another action filled role.
Sharing the teaser, the makers of RJ Balaji directorial wrote on X: “On this special day of celebrating @Suriya_offl sir, we’re thrilled to present the powerful teaser of #Karuppu.”

The film’s shoot kicked off with a pooja ceremony at the Sri Masaniamman Temple in Pollachi, in November. Trisha is cast opposite Suriya, marking the reunion of the lead pair after 23 years.
The cast also includes Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sshivada, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi.
RJ Balaji is known for the 2022 film Veetla Vishesham. While the production house is known for backing critically acclaimed films like Aruvi (2016).
Dream Warrior Pictures production house, who are producing Karuppu, also produced, Joker, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Kaithi, Sulthan, and Farhana. However, according to reports Karuppu will supposedly be the costliest film of the production house.
The film’s technical team includes music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by GK Vishnu, editing by Kalaivanan, art direction by Arun Venjaramoodu, and stunt direction by Vikram Mor.
Meanwhile, Suriya’s Retro, released on 1 May, received mixed reactions.
Suriya is also working with director Venky Atluri for the project titled Suriya 46.
Produced under Sithara Entertainments banner, the film is set to release in Summer 2026. GV Prakash will be scoring the music for Suriya 46.
Mamitha Baiju is set to play the female lead in the film, which also features veteran Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, marking her return to Tamil cinema after 24 years. Her last Tamil film was Kamal Haasan’s Aalavandhan in 2001.
