Actor-director Sundar C introduces Assamese water demon 'Baak' in the latest instalment of 'Aranmanai'.

The makers of the forthcoming Tamil flick Aranmanai 4 released the trailer on Saturday, 30 March. They hosted a grand trailer launch event in Chennai.
The trailer of the horror thriller promises an edge-of-the-seat experience to the audience.
The trailer reveals the premise of the film. Tamannaah Bhatia’s character is shown to have committed suicide and comes back as a powerful demon named “Baak” who seeks revenge.
The protagonist (played by Sundar C) tries to unravel the secret behind the alleged suicide of his sister (Tamannaah’s character) and the deaths occurring in the mansion.
The trailer introduces all the major actors in the movie and promises many thrills and chills.
Aranmanai 4 will be released in April. However, the date has not been confirmed yet.
On Wednesday, 27 March, the makers released a poster of Aranmanai 4.
Sharing the movie poster on her social media handles, Tamannaah Bhatia wrote” “Some say this Mansion is very chill, and some say it is very chilling. This is the second time Sundar C and Tamannaah Bhatia collaborated after Action (2019).
Raashi Khanna, who acted in the third instalment of Aranmanai, is also part of Aranmanai 4.
Vijay Sethupathi was supposed to be part of the movie. However, he opted out due to date issues. Hence, Sundar is playing the lead in the latest instalment.
Aranmanai 4 also stars Santhosh Prathap — renowned for his role in Sarpatta Parambarai — Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, and VTV Ganesh.
Addressing the trailer launch event, director Sundar C said, “I don’t make sequels merely to cash in on the previous hits. I heard of an Assamese water demon ‘Baak’. I thought of making Aranmanai 4 on this premise by changing the revenge template of Aranmanai.”
Apart from other historical reasons, the legend says several empires failed to expand beyond the Brahmaputra River because of the presence of this demon.
“I have used an interesting twist to bring the demon into the family in the latest instalment,” the filmmaker added.
About Tamannaah Bhatia’s character, Sundar C said it was quite challenging but she delivered her best. The actor plays a mother in the flick and it is an emotional role.
Music director Hip Hop Tamizha said he worked with Sundar C in six films. “I am always thankful to him for introducing me as the music composer, director, and hero. The re-recording part of Aranmanai4 will be fresh and you will love it.”
