Amaran’s success

Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Amaran, which was based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was killed in an encounter with militants from Hizbul Mujahideen. The film also focuses on the love story of Mukund and his wife Indu Rebecca Varghese.

Mukund lost his life in April 2014 during a clash with militants in Shopian, Kashmir. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award.

Amaran has all the moments for it to be a patriotic movie, enhanced by fine performances by Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. The movie is a fine tribute to Major Mukund who died in an army operation in Shopian,” our review read.
