Bollywood actor Radhikka Madan stars alongside Akshay Kumar in her latest release, Sarfira, the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru. Directed by national award winner Sudha Kongara, the film presents a captivating story, set against India’s booming startup culture and aviation industry.

In a recent interview, Radhikka Madan discussed her role in the film, her acting journey, and her experience working with Akshay Kumar. She expressed her passion for acting, highlighting how it lets her fulfill dreams through her characters.

For Radhikka Madan, acting is a way to explore unlived experiences. She said, “All the dreams I didn’t fulfill, I can live through my characters. I didn’t go to college; I started working at 17-18 and didn’t complete my education. So, when I did ‘English Medium’, I fulfilled that dream too.”

The actor revealed that she underwent extensive training to master the Marathi dialect for her role in Sarfira. “We took Marathi classes for 2-3 months,” she shared.

Radhikka Madan’s dedication included cultural immersion. “I listened to Marathi songs, learned their body language, and visited a local salon where only Marathi was spoken for services like nail care.”

She described her character, Rani, as “fiery, driven, and independent,” qualities that attracted her.

‘Akshay sir and I shared great on-screen chemistry’

Radhikka Madan became an actor because she gets easily bored and seeks challenges.

Praising co-star Akshay Kumar, she added, “He’s a thorough professional, and I love that about him. We shared great on-screen chemistry.”

On a lighter note, she recounted an anecdote about an early morning shoot with Akshay.

She shared, “I arrived at my vanity at 3.50 am for a 4 am call time, but an AD rushed in and said I needed to hurry. I replied that I was early and would take my time. He then told me, ‘Akshay sir arrived at 3.30’ I realised that no matter how professional I became, he was always a step ahead.”

Radhikka Madan shared that she feels emotional during screenings when she sees her name in the credits. “I realise how far I’ve come and start crying. My first screenings are usually with my family, and they also cry when they see my name.”

Akshay Kumar’s performance has been praised for its emotional depth, earning acclaim from both audiences and critics.

Produced by 2D Entertainment, Abundantia Entertainment, and Cape Of Good Films, the movie is inspired by GR Gopinath’s memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. It depicts a man’s quest to launch affordable airlines for the underprivileged, overcoming numerous challenges.

The actor, further, discussed her upcoming projects, including Roomi Ki Sharafat, a comedy that continues her collaboration with Maddock Films, besides Sana, which has gained international recognition and won several awards at festivals.
