On her podcast Take20, Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently emphasised the importance of a healthy diet. Shortly after the episode aired, an online user criticised her for promoting healthy eating, despite having endorsed unhealthy food and beverage brands in the past. The criticism resonated with Samantha, who candidly admitted to making mistakes in the past when she didn’t know better. “I’ve since stopped accepting many endorsements. I believe in practising what I preach.”

Battling myositis, a rare autoimmune disease causing muscle inflammation, Samantha took a six-month hiatus last year to focus on her health. She makes fitness a priority and aims to encourage her followers to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Fitness first

Samantha acknowledges the need to do the right thing and strives for improvement. “Having learned so much, I can’t ignore what I once overlooked. Whether it’s my food choices or brand endorsements, my ethos now centres on a healthy life,” says the actor, who was diagnosed with myositis in 2022.

Last seen in the 2023 films Shaakuntalam with Dev Mohan and Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha explains, that though her choices might seem imperfect, she aligns with only brands committed to well-being. “I research and use products myself before endorsing them.”

Next up, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will co-star for the first time in the spy series, Citadel. Directed by Raj and DK, it’s the Indian adaptation of the international series of the same name, created by the Russo Brothers.

Reports indicate that both Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan have filmed intense action sequences for the series. Details about the storyline of the Indian version of Citadel are currently undisclosed. However, Priyanka Chopra, who starred in the American version, mentioned that both storylines are interconnected.

A nurturing space for meaningful stories

Furthermore, Samantha will star in Bangaram, a film she announced on her 37th birthday. This project is significant, as it marks her debut as a producer, under her banner, Tralala Moving Pictures.

In addition to producing, Samantha will play the lead role. No further details about the plot, cast, or crew have been disclosed yet. Samantha launched Tralala Moving Pictures in December 2023, aiming to produce content that reflects contemporary expression and ideas.

She described it as a nurturing space for stories that explore the depth and diversity of our social fabric, providing a platform for filmmakers to “tell stories that are meaningful, authentic, and universal.”
