Tamil superstar Rajinikanth had undergone an elective procedure on Tuesday, 1 October, in Chennai. The actor was admitted to the hospital on Monday, 30 September, and late morning on Tuesday, he underwent the non-surgical procedure at Appolo Hospital’s cath lab.
As the news of his hospitalisation came out, many film personalities and politicians wished the superstar a speedy recovery.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha to inquire about his health. Sharing the update, Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai said, “Prime Minister Modi spoke telephonically to Latha Rajinikanth to inquire about the health of our Super Star Rajinikanth.”
Annamalai further wrote on X: “Hon PM was informed about the well-being of Thiru Rajinikanth avl post-surgery & Hon PM wished him a speedy recovery.”

Actor-turned-politicians Kamal Haasan and Vijay too wished Rajinikanth a speedy recovery.
Kamal Haasan, MNM leader took to his X account to wish him a swift recovery. “I wish my dear friend, who is hospitalised, a speedy recovery”.

TVK chief and actor Vijay also shared his wishes for Rajinikanth, “I pray to God that Rajinikanth sir should get well soon and return home”.

The elective procedure was done to repair the enlargement of a blood vessel. The hospital sources further confirmed that his condition is stable.
Sharing an update about the actor’s health, the Appolo Hospital in its press release on Tuesday noted, “Mr Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30 September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method.”
The release further read: “Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days.”
