After delivering successive hits in Tamil with Jigarthanda Double X (2023), Chithha (2024), and Mission: Chapter 1 (2024), Nimisha Sajayan is gearing up for her next Kollywood venture—Enna Vilai.
National Award-winning Malayalam scriptwriter Sajeev Pazhoor is debuting as a director with this movie. Sajeev Pazhoor is known for penning Fahad Faasil’s Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum (2017), which starred Nimisha Sajayan as the female lead.
Enna Vilai is touted to be a family drama with elements of thriller. It revolves around a fishing community in Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram. It stars Karunas as the protagonist.
Y Gee Mahendran, Rajendran, Vijayalakshmi, Mohan Ram, Nizhalgal Ravi, Kavithalaya Krishnan, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Kottachi, and Deepa Shankar are the supporting actors.
In a statement, director Sajeev Pazhoor said, “Everyone will relate to and resonate with our film. With a promising star cast, including the powerhouse talent Nimisha Sajayan, we are confident that Enna Vilai will spread positive vibes.”
He added, “I have worked with Nimisha on Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. Over the years, she became a pan-Indian actor by delivering back-to-back hits (feature films and web series). Enna Vilai will showcase a different and fresh Nimisha Sajayan and we can’t wait to present the film to audiences at the earliest.”
Producer Githesh V stated that the enormous growth of Nimisha Sajayan hadn’t surprised him as he believed from the initial days of her career that she would conquer the pan-Indian spotlights with her stupendous spell.
“I am so excited to collaborate with this talented star. Karunas sir’s role is completely different from what he did in his previous works. Sajeev Pazhoor’s direction combined with Alby Antony’s cinematography and a compelling subject make Enna Vilai unique. I am sure you’ll be in for a visually and emotionally engaging experience.”
Githesh V of Kalamaya Films is backing Enna Vilai. The technical crew includes Sam CS as music director and Sreejith Sarang as editor.
The first schedule has already been completed and the second schedule will be held in Gokulam Studios and other parts of Chennai and Ramoji Film City. The production will be wrapped up by the end of August. The film will have a pan-Indian release.
Nimisha Sajayan was recently seen in two more web series Lantrani (Hindi; 2024) and Poacher (Malayalam; 2024). She is now busy with Dabba Cartel, DNA, and We Are.
