giant Disney+ Hotstar recently unveiled the trailer for its upcoming series, My Perfectt Husband, starring veteran actor Sathyaraj.
Billed as a light-hearted family drama, the series also features Rekha, Seetha, and Reshma Pasupuleti, known for her role in Baakiyalakshmi (which airs on Vijay TV).
The My Perfectt Husband trailer introduces Sathyaraj’s character, as a man, who strives to maintain a faithful image, despite being the opposite. The plot thickens when he discovers that his son is in love with the daughter of his former childhood sweetheart, setting the stage for a mix of comedy and emotional drama.
The trailer opens with a woman’s voiceover expressing pride in her husband’s supposed fidelity, while scenes reveal his secrets tied to a past romance. The narrative intertwines the love stories of two generations, suggesting that the young couple’s parents share a history, leading to further drama.
Sathyaraj reunites with his past co-stars, Seetha, and Rekha, with whom he has previously worked in films like Kadalora Kavithaigal (1986), En Bommukutty Ammavukku (1988), Mallu Vetti Minor (1990), Maaran (2002), and Thambi (2019).
Directed by the late Thamira, known for Aan Devathai (2018), My Perfectt Husband also stars Varsha Bollamma, VJ Rakshan, Livingston, Bigg Boss Tamil participant Ajeedh, and so on.
Following Thamira’s passing due to COVID-19 complications in 2021, director Nirmal Kumar, known for Vijay Antony’s Salim (2014), took over the project.
Thamira began his career by assisting filmmakers like K Balachander and Bharathiraja. He made his directorial debut in 2010 with Rettaisuzhi and cast both his mentors in the film in important roles.

With music by Vidyasagar, cinematography by Arthur Wilson, and editing by Parthasarathy, the 10-episode series will be available on Disney+ Hotstar from 16 August. It will be streamed in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, and Bengali.
My Perfectt Husband adds to Disney+ Hotstar’s expanding content-driven Tamil web series lineup, joining recent releases like Uppu Puli Kaaram and Chutney Sambar.
Sathyaraj recently appeared in Weapon (2024) with Vasanth Ravi and Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan (2024) with Vijay Antony. His upcoming projects include Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie and AR Murugadoss-Salman Khan’s Sikandar.
