Tamil film Lubber Pandhu, a sports drama, which received critical acclaim from audience and critics alike is all set to hit the OTT this Deepavali.
The film, which was released in theatres on 20 September will have its digital premiere on 31 October on Disney Plus Hotstar.
Directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, the movie also speaks about caste discrimination prevalent in the local cricket clubs in rural Tamil Nadu.

Worldwide, the film will be available on the platform Simply South.

The movie based on the local cricket matches, shows the character arcs of the lead characters Gethu and Anbu, played by Attakathi Dinesh and Harish Kalyan as they are entangled in these matches.
The story mainly revolves around the ego clash between these two characters and how the women played by Swasika and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy handle the situation.
Along with Tamil, the sports drama will also be available in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages from the said date.
While the film had a small release, it soon garnered popularity with word of mouth. According to reports, the film collected over ₹40 crore, and was inching towards ₹50 crore.
Due to this, the OTT release of Lubber Pandhu was postponed. The film was initially slated to release on 18 October but was postponed to 31 October.

The film has Sean Roldan’s music, Dinesh Purushothaman’s cinematography and Madan Ganesh’s editing.
Meanwhile, Karthi’s Meiyazhagan, which was released around the same time, will also be released on Netflix on 27 October.
Apart from these two, the much-awaited, Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan is also expected to release on 31 October.
