LCU prelude

Ace director Lokesh Kanagaraj on Friday, 25 October, revealed that a 10-minute short film about the origins of LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) will be released soon.

Kaithi (2019), Vikram (2022) and Leo (2023) are the films part of LCU, and this short film is supposed to reveal the common thread between these films.

In all three films, characters from other films have a cameo, or a plot point is motivated by another film.

Lokesh Kangaraj took to X, to share the news, he has come out with the first-look poster of Chapter Zero, the 10-minute prelude to the origins of LCU.

The poster had guns laid around, forming a “0” with the text “1 shot, 2 stories and 24 hours”. The short film will be produced by Lokesh’s banner G Squad.

The director is now busy with Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which he confirmed will not be part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).

Touted as a gangster action film, Coolie will feature action sequences choreographed by the renowned Anbariv duo.

On the other hand, Lokesh also hinted at the possibility of Kaithi 2 with Karthi, on the fifth anniversary of the film.

Noting that the LCU started from the film, he wrote on X: “It all started from here! Dilli will return soon.”

In Kaithi, Karthi’s character Dilli’s introduction scene is in a prison, however, the back story of Dilli is not known. Fans now guess if Kaithi 2 will delve into this aspect.

On the other hand, LCU fans have also been asking Lokesh to work with Suriya, who played the role of Rolex in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.

Karthi is basking in the success of Meiyazhagan and is working on Sardar 2.
