KVN Productions to back 'Thalapathy 69' under H Vinoth's direction. (X)
In a massive announcement that has sent waves across the Indian film industry, KVN Productions has revealed they will be producing Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, Thalapathy 69.
Directed by H Vinoth and with music by Anirudh Ravichander, this venture is set to be a grand farewell for Vijay, who is transitioning from films to politics.
The much-anticipated Thalapathy 69 is slated for an October 2025 release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
Since Thalapathy 69 is its first pan-India venture, KVN Productions promised an epic cinematic experience. A press release from the makers expressed their excitement, stating, “We are pulling out all the stops to ensure this final chapter in Vijay’s illustrious career is nothing short of legendary.”
KVN Productions took to social media to share this big news. It posted: “We are beyond proud & excited to announce that our first Tamil film is #Thalapathy69, directed by the visionary #HVinoth, with music by the sensational Rockstar @anirudhofficial. Super happy to collaborate with the one and only #Thalapathy @actorvijay.”
A tribute video dedicated to Vijay was shared on Friday, 13 September, honouring his 30-plus years in cinema.
“The Love for Thalapathy. We all grew up with your films & you’ve been a part of our lives every step of the way,” the post read while celebrating Vijay’s legacy.

Thalapathy 69 aims to push cinematic boundaries, with director H Vinoth at the helm. The filmmaker is known for his visionary storytelling.
Anirudh Ravichander, one of the most celebrated composers, has been taken on board to create a memorable musical score for Vijay’s last film.
Co-producers Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK are teaming up with producer Venkat K Narayana to bring this grand project to life, ensuring Thalapathy 69 becomes a landmark in Indian cinema.
“The production team is equally packed with stalwarts,” the release added, underlining the high-profile crew assembled for the project.
Meanwhile, Vijay’s latest release, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), is still running in theatres, breaking several box office records and cementing its place as the biggest Tamil film of the year.
