Tamil star hero Dhanush, who shares a good association with music director-actor GV Prakash Kumar, launched the trailer of the latter’s upcoming film Rebel.
Directed by Nikesh RS, the film marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actor Mamitha Baiju.
The movie will be released on 22 March.
Its story revolves around a rebel student, played by GV Prakash. The film is based on real-life incidents in Munnar.
Rebel trailer gives the impression that GV Prakash Kumar did some powerful action sequences in the film. It also has some good songs, which of course were composed by the music director-actor himself.
The trailer also gives glimpses of the college politics and the rivalry between the students and the local outfits.

Director Nikesh said the story narrates the life of a rebel student who stood up for the rights and identity of Tamil speakers in Munnar. Interestingly, the director also hails from the same location.
KE Gnanavelaraja is bankrolling the film under the banner of Studio Green.
GV Prakash recently scored the music for Dhanush’s Captain Miller (2024), the first Tamil film to enter the ₹100-crore club this year.
In an interview, the music composer shared that Academy Award winner AR Rahman called him up and praised him for the background score in Captain Miller.
