Vijay's 'GOAT' sets new record in pre-release sales. (X)
The highly anticipated Tamil film GOAT (The Greatest of All Time), starring Vijay and directed by Venkat Prabhu, is making headlines by earning an impressive ₹425 crore in pre-release sales. This achievement makes the movie a profitable venture even before its official release on 5 September.
Budgeted at around ₹375 crore, GOAT has set a new benchmark as Vijay’s most successful film in terms of pre-release business. It surpassed expectations despite a quieter buzz compared to his previous release, Leo (2023).
Producer Archana Kalpathi confirmed the film’s profitability during the trailer launch event in Chennai recently.
GOAT is one of Vijay’s most high-profile projects to date and is generating good excitement among his fans and industry insiders alike.
Billed as an action-packed entertainer, this most-awaited film features Vijay in dual roles as both father and son. It boasts a star-studded cast, including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Mohan, and Premgi Amaren.
The film’s music, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, already garnered attention. The makers are all set to release the fourth single from the album soon.
Rated U/A by the CBFC, the movie will have a runtime of two hours 59 minutes and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
According to Sree Gokulam Movies, the film’s distributor in Kerala, GOAT will be shown on over 700 screens with more than 4,000 shows in the state.
