Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film, The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), has become a major box office success by registering a gross collection of ₹447 crore worldwide within 18 days. Despite experiencing fluctuations in other regions, the film continues to perform well in Tamil Nadu.
By the end of its second week, GOAT amassed ₹420 crore worldwide, making it the third Tamil film after Leo (2023) and Ponniyin Selvan 1 (2022) to surpass ₹200 crore in Tamil Nadu.
Vijay is now the only actor to have two films crossing ₹200 crore in the state, a significant achievement in his illustrious career. Despite slowing down in some markets, the GOAT‘s strong response in Tamil Nadu solidified its status as a box office hit.
According to the Sacnilk industry tracking website, the Vijay-starrer added ₹5.25 crore to its total on its 18th day (third Sunday), thus bringing its net domestic collection to ₹243.50 crore.
Tamil Nadu remains the film’s strongest market, with a Tamil-language occupancy of 48.51 percent on its third Sunday. The Hindi version of the film maintained a modest occupancy of 21.39 percent.
Similarly, the Tamil version earned ₹5.06 crore on day 18, while the Hindi version brought in ₹0.39 crore. GOAT grossed approximately ₹215 crore in Tamil Nadu alone by day 18, with the third-weekend collection estimated at ₹16 crore.
GOAT is set to touch the ₹500-crore mark in the coming days, continuing its strong performance at the box office.
