Social media is abuzz with speculation that Dhanush might join the cast of the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. Rumours suggest that the Asuran (2019) actor could share the screen with Robert Downey Jr, who is set to return as Doctor Doom, directed by the Russo Brothers.
Although Marvel Studios has not confirmed Dhanush’s involvement, the speculation has sparked significant excitement among fans.
Known for his versatile performances, Dhanush made a notable impact on the global stage with The Gray Man in 2022, where he starred alongside Hollywood stars.
A collaboration with Downey Jr, who has been a fan favourite as Iron Man and now potentially Doctor Doom, would be a major milestone in Dhanush’s career and a notable crossover between Indian cinema and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The buzz around Dhanush’s possible role in Avengers: Doomsday is intense, with fans flooding social media with fan art, theories, and speculations about his potential character. The possibilities range from a powerful ally to a formidable antagonist.
Dhanush’s recent success with Raayan, acclaimed for its gripping storyline and powerful performance, has intensified anticipation for his next projects.
Reflecting on his journey since his Tamil debut in 2002 with Thulluvadho Ilamai, Dhanush, in an interview with a leading English daily, admitted he was initially uncertain about his acting future.
Over the years, he has evolved both as an actor and as an individual. “It took a lot of effort since nothing comes naturally to me,” he noted with a grin.
Dhanush recalled struggling with English in his early years and the hard work he invested to improve. “My English was quite poor in 2005. To address that, I started reading English books, which initially took me over six months to finish a single book because I’d often fall asleep before completing a chapter,” he shared.
Dhanush’s motivation stemmed from his desire to learn a new language and his passion for stories. He was quoted saying in an interview, “Stories have always excited me. As reading became a habit, it became less of a chore.”
