Dhanush is set to team up with Por Tozhil director Vignesh Raja for his upcoming film tentatively titled D54.
The makers announced the film, along with the news that the team has officially went on floors
Sharing the snapshots of the pooja, they wrote: “The much awaited journey starts off. #D54 starring Dhanush K Raja. Shoot begins today with a pooja. Produced by Vels Film Intl. A film by Vignesh Raja. A GV Prakash Musical”

The film stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, while actors Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Nitin Sathyaa and Kushmitha, are expected to play pivotal roles.
The film is written by Vignesh Raja and Alfred Prakash.
Dhanush was last seen in Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa, which received appreciation from both audience and critics. The actor’s performance was especially widely lauded.
The socio-drama also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh in prominent roles.
Devi Sri Prasad scored the music for Kuberaa and Niketh Bommi handled the cinematography.
Dhanush also has his directorial Idly Kadai, and Hindi film Tere Ishq Mein awaiting release and D55 with Rajkumar Periasamy, D56 with Mari Selvaraj in the pipeline.
He also has two biopics, untitled Ilaiyaraaja biopic helmed by Arun Matheswaran, and Kalam: The Missile Man of India – Abdul Kalam biopic under the direction of Om Raut.
