Andrea Jeremiah's 'Kaa' release postponed due to legal trouble

The release of Andrea Jeremiah’s new Tamil film Kaa has been postponed after it landed in legal trouble.

The Madras High Court restrained the release of the movie on 29 March after a case was filed against the producer.

According to reports, Eight Entertainment Company owner Jayakumar filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking a ban on the release of Kaa, owing to a dispute over a loan taken by the film producer.

Producer John Max of Shalom Studios reportedly took a loan of ₹20 lakh from Eight Entertainment Company and promised to return the amount with interest within 90 days but in vain.

Jayakumar filed a lawsuit when the producer decided to release the film without repaying the loan amount. In the petition, he also sought complete copyrights of Kaa.

Following this, the Madras High Court ordered an interim ban on the release of Kaa on 29 March.

The court adjourned the hearing to 12 April and ordered the producer to respond to the lawsuit.

Directed by Nanjil, Kaa stars Andrea Jeremiah and Salim Ghouse in the lead roles. Andrea plays a wildlife photographer in the flick.

Sundar C Babu composed the music and Arivazhagan handled the cinematography.

The trailer portrays Andrea Jeremiah surviving in the wild forest even as she tries to escape death.

Andrea was last seen in the Telugu film Saindhav, starring Venkatesh.
