Actors and politicians wish Rajinikanth as he turns 74

South superstar Rajinikanth, fondly known as “Thalaivar” celebrated his 74th birthday on Thursday, 12 December.

The actor is currently shooting for his next big venture Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in Jaipur. According to reports, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has also joined the shoot.

While there have not been any updates yet, Lokesh took to X, to share a cryptic post, on Thursday. “It’s 6 pm today,” he wrote on X, in Tamil.

On the occasion of the actor’s birthday, his 1991 classic gangster action drama Thalapathi’s 4K remastered version, directed by Mani Ratnam was re-released. The film also starred Mammootty and Arvind Swamy in lead roles along with the superstar.

Meanwhile, actors, politicians and his numerous fans wished the actor.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin shared a heartfelt message on X, “Happy birthday to my wonderful friend, Superstar Mr Rajinikanth, who has crossed borders and made everyone from six to sixty fans with his acting and style! I wish you, who have been accumulating continuous successes in the film industry, to always be peaceful and happy and to please people.”

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan too wished his colleague.  “Happy birthday to my dear friend, Superstar Rajinikanth. May you achieve more and more successes; be surrounded by good health; be filled with happiness; live long!”

Actor-politician Vijay wrote on X: “Dear and respected superstar Mr Rajinikanth. I wish them a very happy birthday. I pray to God to give you good health and long life.”

Wishes from colleagues 

Actor-director Dhanush too wished Rajinikanth, he wrote: “Happy birthday to the one, only one, super one .. SUPERSTAR .. the phenomenon that redefined mass and style .. my thalaiva Rajinikanth sir.”

Director Pa Ranjith also wished the superstar.

Actor SJ Suryah wrote on X: “Happy Birthday to our SUPERSTAR ⁦Rajinikanth sir. Great year sir, always ur fan SJ Suryah.”

He also shared a clip of the film Thalapathy, which has been re-released on Thursday.

Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar too wished the superstar, and soon enough his replies were flooded with fans asking for Jailer 2 updates.
