Vikram added, “I told Pa Ranjith and Gnanavel before Thangalaan’s release that it would connect with Telugu audiences due to its focus on ordinary people. When I made Sivaputrudu (2003), there were doubts about its appeal in Telugu, but it turned out to be a big hit.”
