Actor Suriya, who is currently promoting his upcoming film Retro announced on Saturday, 28 April, that his next project is with director Venky Atluri, with Naga Vamsi as the producer under the banner Sithara entertainments.
Speaking at a pre-release event in Hyderabad, Suriya said, “I have to announce this today. I have to start with Allu Arvind gaaru; the whole journey started with him. With his blessings, you have been waiting for this announcement, we are associating with Sithara Entertainments’ Vamsi gaaru and my dear brother Venky here.”
“This will be my next. As you’ve all been asking, after a long time, with beautiful association and beautiful talent here, we will be doing my next Tamil film. I will be shooting and spending a lot of time here in beautiful Hyderabad. From May onwards, we start our next. We need all your love, we need all your blessings. I am sure this will be a beautiful journey and that there will be more beautiful associations happening.”
The film is tentatively titled Suriya 46.

Venky Atluri’s last film Lucky Baskhar starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary was a major hit. Earlier he worked with Dhanush, in Sir.
Meanwhile, Karthik Subbaraj’s directorial also features Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Sujith Shankar in crucial roles.
Retro’s original background score and soundtrack are composed by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali. The film is set to hit the screens on 1 May.
Suriya was last seen in Kanguva. The action entertainer opened to mixed reviews, with many complaining of sound issues and a lack of a strong story.
He is currently working on a film with RJ Balaji, tentatively titled Suriya 45. It is anticipated to be an action thriller. In November 2024, the film’s shoot started with a pooja ceremony at the Sri Masaniamman Temple in Pollachi. RJ Balaji is known for the 2022 film Veetla Vishesham.
