The directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, actor-politician Vijay’s son, is back in the news. According to reports, Jason Sanjay is all set to direct Telugu actor Sundeep Kishan in his maiden venture.
His directorial debut was announced in August 2023 under the banner of Lyca Productions. However, there haven’t been any developments since then.
Meanwhile, the genre of the story or any other information regarding the project has not been announced yet.
Jason Sanjay, unlike his father—who is an established actor—chose direction as his profession to foray into movies.
After considering other leading men, including Kavin and Dhruv Vikram, the reports suggested that the makers have decided on casting Sundeep Kishan as the male lead in Jason Sanjay’s film.
The Telugu actor recently made his mark in the Tamil film industry with his performances in Captain Miller (2024) and Raayan (2024).
After starting the year with Captain Miller, Sundeep Kishan teamed up with Dhanush again for his directorial Raayan. In the film, the actor received wide applause for his acting.
In Telugu, Sundeep Kishan delivered a success with Ooru Peru Bhairavakona (2023).

On the other hand, the actor has teamed up with director Thrinadha Rao Nakkina for his 30th film—tentatively titled SK30.
Sundeep Kishan will also star in the Telugu film Vibe, directed by Swaroop RSJ. Additionally, reports suggest that he’s part of Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula and headlined by Dhanush. An official confirmation from the makers is awaited though. Kubera also casts Akkineni Nagarjuna in a pivotal role and Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
While it has not been officially announced, there is palpable anticipation from the audience. However, the pre-production work has now been completed and the film is set to take off strongly.
Meanwhile, actor Vijay recently delivered another entertainer with GOAT under the direction of Venkat Prabhu. The film crossed the ₹300 mark worldwide on the fifth day of its theatrical release.
In other news, his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, is gearing up to contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.
