Tamil Nadu State Film Awards presented for 2009-2014

Though the awards were announced in 2017, they were given away in a ceremony held in Chennai on Sunday, 4 September.

The Tamil Nadu state government has given away the State Film Awards for the years 2009 to 2014, at a function organised at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai on Sunday, 4 September. Though the awards were announced in 2017, the award ceremony was held on Sunday.

Among the winners are Vijay Sethuypati, Jiiva, Nayanathara, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vikram, Sivakarthikeyan and Amala Paul. A jury led by former judge A Raman selected the winners. Check the winners’ list here:

2009

  • Best Movie: Pasanga, Mayandi Kudumbathinar and Achchamundu! Achchamundu!
  • Best Actor: Karan (Malayan)
  • Best Actor-Special Jury: Prasanna (Achchamundu! Achchamundu!)
  • Best Actress: Padmapriya (Pokkisham)
  • Best Actress-Special Jury: Anjali (Angadi Theru)
  • Best Villain: Prakash Raj (Villu)
  • Best Director: Vasantha Balan (Angadi Theru)
