Superstar Rajinikanth calls director Gopichand Malineni

The director of Veera Simha Reddy, Gopichand Malineni, was thrilled to receive a phone call from Superstar Rajinikanth praising his film.

An excited Malineni took to the microblogging site, Twitter, to express his gratitude. He said Rajinikanth’s words of praise meant more to him than anything else.

Rajinikanth is presently busy shooting for his upcoming venture Jailer in Mangaluru. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the cast includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mohanlal, Ramya Krishnan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar, who makes his debut in Tamil.

The latest buzz in tinsel town is that Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff joining Jailer. Jackie Shroff was recently spotted in Jodhpur railway station where he confirmed that he was in town for the shooting of Jailer. This will be the third time Jackie and Rajinikanth working together, after Uttar Dakshin and Kochadaiyaan.

Jyotika wraps up Sri

Tamil actress Jyotika recently finished shooting for the Hindi film Sri. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film stars Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar.

Jyotika expressed her gratitude for the experience and the experience she gained as an actor while working in the film.

The actress is also working on a Malayalam film with Mammootty, titled Kaathal, which marks her comeback to the Malayalam film industry after over a decade.

The film, produced by Mammootty Kampany and directed by Joe Baby, features Lalu Alex, Muthumani, and others.

The technical crew includes cinematographer Salu K Thomas, editor Francis Louis, and music director Mathews Pulickal, all of whom have previously worked with Jeo Baby’s critically acclaimed film The Great Indian Kitchen.

Burning Star’s Tamil debut

Noted Telugu actor Sampoornesh Babu, known as ‘Burning Star’, is making his Tamil film debut as the lead in Gopinath Narayanamoorthy’s comedy entertainer.

It also marks the debut of the director. Previously, an assistant to Milind Rau and R Kannan, Gopinath believes the script has the potential to go beyond Tamil and chose Sampoornesh after his team felt he was the best fit for the film based on an original script.

The film which is being co-produced by Koteswara and KM Ilanchezhian of the New Normal Film Factory.

Shameer Tandon has scored the music for the lyrics penned by Kabilan. It also stars Robo Shankar, Surbhi Shukla, Ranjendran, Surekha Vani, Maaran, and Seshu.
