At the special screening of 'RRR' in Japan, the director revealed that they finished the writing part and are ready for pre-production.

After the roaring success of RRR (2022), all eyes are on SS Rajamouli’s next big venture with Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu.
The film, tentatively referred to as SSBM29, is yet to start its pre-production.
At the special screening of RRR in Japan recently, the ace director spilt a few beans about the film.
Rajamouli confirmed that the writing has been completed and they are ready for the next stage, which is the pre-production.
He also revealed that only Mahesh Babu has been locked in for the movie as the protagonist.
Defining Mahesh as “very handsome” actor, the director said if the film shooting is completed soon, they would arrange for a special screening in Japan with the hero himself.

The most interesting part is the buzz surrounding Mahesh Babu’s role in the project. Unlike the characters he portrayed on screen in his entire career, it is learnt that the Superstar will have multiple layers to his role in the flick.
Industry insiders suggest that Mahesh’s role in Rajamouli’s flick will have intensity with various layers.
Reports also indicate that the filmmaker crafted the role in such a way that it would astonish the audience and that this movie will be a visual treat for Mahesh Babu’s fans.
Vijayendra Prasad penned the script of SSMB29. MM Keeravani is composing the music.
S Gopal Reddy and KL Narayana is bankrolling the film with a massive budget.
Mahesh Babu’s recent outing, Guntur Kaaram, proved to be a box-office disaster for him and reputed director Trivikram Srinivas. However, the makers claimed it made good revenues at the box office.
