#Megas154 goes on the floors

Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Bobby (KS Ravindra) have joined hands for a project tentatively titled “Mega154”. This film is the official Telugu remake of Tamil film Vedalam.

Shruti Haasan is the leading lady. Now that Chiranjeevi is free from Godfather, he is all set to take part in the lengthy shooting schedule of Mega154 in Hyderabad.

On Saturday, 3 September, the makers began filming a couple of scenes with Chiranjeevi and other actors. The movie’s key sequences will be shot in this latest shooting schedule.

Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar are the producers, and GK Mohan is the co-producer. Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is the music director. Arthur A Wilson is the cinematographer.

Niranjan Devaramane is the editor and AS Prakash is the production designer. Sushmita Konidela is the costume designer.

While the story and dialogue are written by Bobby himself, Kona Venkat and K Chakravarthy Reddy are penning the screenplay for Mega154. The writing department also includes Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri.

As per reports, the film will be titled Vaaltair Veerayya and will be released in theatres for Sankranti. The movie has Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja in a key role and he is teaming up with Chiranjeevi after 20 long years.

Drunk fans of Pawan Kalyan damage theatre

Marking his birthday, Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa was screened in several theatres across the world. The actor-politician has a huge following and is considered a demi-god by his admirers.

The remastered 4K version of Trivikram’s directorial venture created a record by getting screened in over 700 theatres worldwide.

During the screening of Jalsa in Leela Mahal theatre in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, the excited fans of Pawan Kalyan uprooted the seats, and even damaged the AC ducts, as well as the screen.

The theatre management has estimated the loss at ₹20 lakh. It would take at least a month for the cinema hall to resume screenings.

“This is a huge loss for us. Nowadays, fans are defaming their heroes with such shameful acts. They are damaging the reputation of the actors with such unruly behaviour,” said a worker employed at Leela Mahal theatre.

“On Friday, around 2,000 excited fans forcibly entered our 700-capacity theatre. A majority of them were drunk. They tore the seats and the screen. They even damaged the AC ducts and furniture. Our management requested additional security as there were only four cops on duty, but it was too late,” he lamented.

“It will take a month for the repair works, and no movies will be screened till then. This means that we won’t be paid until the theatre reopens!”

Ram Charan-Gowtam Tinnanuri’s project shelved?

A couple of years ago, on Ram Charan’s birthday, the UV Creations banner announced their collaboration with the RRR actor and Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri.

At that time, Gowtam was busy working with Shahid for the Hindi remake of Jersey.

Ram Charan’s fans celebrated after the announcement, as Jersey won at the National Awards. However, since then, there has been no update on the project.

Meanwhile, Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer RRR had hit the screens and Chiranjeevi’s Acharya also made it to the cinema halls.

Further, Ram Charan started shooting for Shankar Shanmugham’s film, which has been tentatively titled RC15. Now that Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited Indian 2 has resumed, director Shankar and Charan took a break from RC15.

Against this backdrop, Charan is believed to have shelved his next film with director Gowtam and instead finalised the scripts coming his way.

Rumour mills are agog that the actor is not interested in Gowtam’s story anymore. Also, he is likely to give a nod to Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj. However, an official confirmation is awaited.
