CinemaSnippets: Songs from Ajith’s Thunivu leaked on internet

The Thunivu Vs Varisu war heated up after the song “Chilla Chilla” scheduled for release by Zee Studios on 9 December got leaked. Footage of nearly 12 seconds from the song is doing the rounds on social media.

Soon after the video went viral, another song, “Kasethaan Kaduvulada” — sung by Anirudh and written by Vaisagh — found its way to the internet.

Lyricist Vaisaghh took to Instagram and appealed to the public to not share the leaked video. The music was composed by Ghibran.

SS Music Channel, in a tweet, asked fans to report profiles of those sharing the song and have it removed.

Meanwhile, Vijay’s fans called this a publicity stunt. Some claimed that the 12-second bit was too much to bear.

However, Ajith’s fans appealed to the makers to go ahead and release the full songs, and not to bother about the comments.

On Tuesday, 6 December, stills of Ajith in a black shirt were leaked. Thunivu will be released in Telugu as Thegimpu. Netflix is its streaming partner.

Simbu to do cameo in Varisu

Simbu aka STR who sang the song “Thee” for Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu will also have a cameo in the film, a source close to the production team told South First.

The song, written by Vivek, is a fan anthem composed by S Thaman.

Simbu recently sang the Hindi song “Taali Taali” for the film Double XL, as his friend Mahat played one of the leads in the flick opposite Huma Qureshi. This was STR’s debut in Bollywood.

Interestingly, the actor recently sang for the Telugu film 18 Pages starring Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupama Parameswaran.

Music director Gopi Sunder, a close friend of the actor, got him to dance for the number as well.

Jr NTR lends voice to Virupaksha

Jr NTR has lent his voice to Sai Dharam Tej’s upcoming flick Virupaksha.

In the title glimpse video released by the makers of Virupaksha on Wednesday, 7 December, Jr NTR introduced Sai Dharam Tej as the protagonist.

Jr NTR’s intense voice made the 55-second video more captivating.


Virupaksha, a mystical thriller, marks the 15th film of Tej. It will also be released in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Who is roped in for the voiceover for the flick in the other languages remains to be seen.

The movie has Samyuktha Menon as the female lead, is directed by Karthik Dandu, and is produced by BVSN Prasad under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings.

B Ajaneesh Loknath is the music director. Navin Nooli is the editor and Shamdat Sainudeen is the cinematographer. It is hitting the big screens on 21 April, 2023.

Jr NTR is currently busy with Koratala Siva’s NTR30. Also, KGF-fame Prashanth Neel’s NTR31 is on the cards.

He is also basking in the success of RRR, which is bagging awards on various international platforms like the New York Film Festival, Hollywood Critics Association, and Atlanta Film Critics Circle.

The actor is also famous for playback singing. He rendered a couple of hit numbers like “Olammi Tikka Reginda” in Yamadonga, “Chary” in Adhurs, “Raakaasi Raakaasi” in Rabhasa, and “Follow Follow” in Nannaku Prematho.
