The bold and beautiful Ragini Dwivedi, known for her outspokenness, is back in form as she returns with multiple projects that will hit the screens in the coming days.

After facing minor hiccups in her personal life, the actor recently made her debut in a musical album of a different kind that has been the talk of the tinsel town.

Soneyeah has two different musical flavours: Kannada and Punjabi. That’s what makes it special and first-of-its-kind. How the two have been brilliantly infused in the rap music has garnered great response from the audience so far,” she told South First.

The music video album featuring Ragini and rapper Quake (Arjun Sharma), released on YouTube on 14 February marking Valentine’s Day, has been choreographed by Vishnu Deva. The Kannada version has been performed by Martin Yo.

“It was great fun working with Vishnu who has choreographed umpteen numbers of superhit Hindi songs for films like Ram Leela and Padmavaat. I have signed three more projects with Lahari and T-Series music labels,” Ragini said.

Action Queen

Ragini has had success with solo action dramas in Kannada with Ragini IPS which earned her the title “Action Queen” — a title that she shares with senior actor Malashree.

Incidentally, Malashree’s comeback film Night Curfew is slated for release in the coming weeks. She took a sabbatical from acting after the passing away of her husband Ramu.

A popular producer in Kannada, Ramu bankrolled several hits under his Ramu Enterprises banner, including Lockup Death, AK 47, And Kalasipalya, and Circle Inspector, among others.

Three Tamil films in kitty

Ragini has three Tamil films in the pipeline. Of the three, the first is Kick alongside Santhanam. It is a comedy action thriller directed by Kannada director Prashant Raj.

“I’m making a comeback of sorts in Tamil with Kick. My last in Kollywood was Nimirndhu Nil (2014). Then, I have a yet-to-be-titled venture starring Sundar C in the lead. The third — Email — is a suspense action drama and marks my first solo appearance,” she added.

More in the pipeline

Ragini Dwivedi is also eagerly looking forward to the release of Balu Narayan’s directorial Sheela (Malayalam and Kannada) this year.

“The action thriller is a bilingual where I play the titular role. It has all elements that would appeal to audiences across India. They can see me in two different shades — in a glamourous role in the first half and a raw-gory character in the latter half,” she added.

These apart, she has Karma Returns, Bingo, and two more untitled films in Kannada. She is also making her Bollywood debut with Walker House starring Parambrata Chatterjee.

Further, she recently concluded the shoot of a promotional song for Chandan Shetty which has been sung by popular playback singer Mangli.

“I have been working daily on all the projects for more than a year. It’s been good so far and I cannot wait for my audience to watch them,” the actor said with excitement.

“My motto is simple: To entertain the audience to the best of my abilities,” Ragini signed off.
