Telangana HC quashed the censor certificate of Vyuham

In a setback for maverick filmmaker-producer Ramgopal Varma, the Telangana High Court has quashed the certificate issued by the Censor Board to the upcoming film Vyuham.

Vyuham revolves around crucial milestones in the life and political career of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

On Monday, 22 January,  the High Court responded to a petition filed by TDP leader Nara Lokesh who raised objections over depicting events and characters in Ram Gopal Varma’s movie.

It is mentioned that certain scenes and dialogues in Vyuham belittle the existing characters like Opposition leaders Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.

Nara Lokesh recently wrote a letter urging the Censor Board to withhold permission for the release of Vyuham.

Actor Ajmal Ameer essays the role of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, while actor Manasa Radhakrishnan plays the role of YS Bharathi. Dhanunjay Prabhune plays the role of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in Vyuham.

The other cast includes Vasu Inturi, Kota Jayaram, Rekha Prakash, Surabhi Prabhavathi, and Elena Tuteja.
