The month of August came to an end with the box office witnessing a good number of blockbuster hits, and a couple of flops.

While there are no big-budget releases, many small- and medium-budget movies waiting in the editing suites for a long time are finally making their way to the theatres this September. Let’s check the list:

First Day First Show

This film has newbies Sanchita Bashu and Srikanth Reddy as lead actors. Vamshidhar Goud and Lakshminarayana Puttachetty are the directors.

Jathirathnalu director KV Anudeep is the story and screenplay writer. The film has Vennela Kishore, Tanikella Bharani, Srinivas Reddy, Prabhas Sreenu and Mahesh Achanta in key roles. Srija Entertainment and Mitra Vinda Movies are jointly producing it.

First Day First Show is up for release, worldwide, on 2 September.

In a recent interview, Anudeep said that he wanted to direct the film besides penning the story. However, he gave the chance to his assistant directors due to his prior commitments.

Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga

Vaishnav Tej and Kethika Sharma-starrer Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is said to be a breezy entertainer. The trailer was unveiled by the makers recently and it is all set to hit the screens on 2 September.

The film is about two friends who are not on talking terms since their childhood. Hero waits for the heroine to talk to him first and vice-versa.

As they grow up into young adults, they get attracted to each other. How they would express their love for each other forms the crux of the story.

Vaishnav Tej bagged successive hits with Uppena and Kondapolam. Let’s wait and watch if he manages a hattrick.

Oke Oka Jeevitham

Oke Oka Jeevitham has Sharwanand, Ritu Varma, Amala Akkineni, Vennela Kishore and Priya Darshi playing pivotal roles. Directed by Shree Karthick, this sci-fi thriller deals with time travel.

It will be released in both Telugu and Tamil on 9 September. Amala Akkineni is making a comeback in the Tamil film industry after 31 years.

Sharwanand’s last film Mahasamudram ended up as a disaster at the box office due to various reasons. Let’s hope that the actor returns to his form this time.

Gurtunda Seetakalam

Gurtunda Seetakalam was announced long back, but the movie was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is finally hitting the silver screens on 9 September.

Starring Satyadev and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles, the flick is an official remake of Kannada film Love Mocktail. There is not much hype or buzz about it though.

Both Tamannaah and Satyadev are desperate for hits at this moment. Let’s see if it will grant them the much-deserved break.

Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsinavaadini

Kiran Abbavaram and Sanjana Anand-starrer Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsina vaadini is a directorial venture of Karthik Shankar. Kodi Divya is producing it under Kodi Ramakrishna’s home banner.

The film will hit the screens on 9 September. Kiran’s recent film Sammathame was a decent hit and made good profits at the box office.

After a couple of flops, the actor had proved his mettle with Sammathame. And now, he is eagerly waiting to give his best via Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsinavaadini.

Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali

Indraganti Mohana Krishna, who is known for making romantic and breezy entertainers, is coming up with yet another love story called Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali.

His last film V starring Nani, Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Aditi Rao Hydari was released directly on Amazon Prime in 2020. It didn’t go down well with the viewers though.

Now, after a gap of two years, he is back with Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali featuring Sudheer Babu and Krithi Shetty. Benchmark Studios and Mythri Movie Makers are jointly producing it.

Srinivas Avasarala, Vennela Kishore and Rahul Ramakrishna will be seen in supporting roles. The film will hit the big screens on 16 September.

Saakini Daakini

Touted to be the official remake of Korean comedy entertainer Midnight Runners, Saakini Daakini has Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra as the leading ladies.

This film is all about two women who join the Police Academy. While one is a foodie, the other is a cleanliness freak.

The two have a tough time adjusting to each other during their training period. However, a crisis forces them to work together. The trailer already created quite a buzz in the industry.

Saakini Daakini is directed by Sudheer Varma and produced by Suresh Babu. Ut is releasing in cinema halls on 16 September.

Krishna Vrinda Vihari

Naga Shaurya and Shirley Setia are coming together for Krishna Vrinda Vihari, a directorial venture of Anish Krishna. Shaurya’s mother Usha Mulpuri producing it under the banner of Ira Creations.

Rahul Ramakrishna, Satya, Vennela Kishore and Radhika Sarathkumar are playing the supporting roles.

As of now, this romantic comedy is drawing positive responses from the audiences. It will hit the big screens on 23 September.

Alluri

In Sree Vishnu’s upcoming film Alluri, the actor is playing a cop. Directed by Pradeep Varma, the movie is making a theatrical release on 23 September.

It has been a long time since Sree Vishnu bagged a hit. Though a good performer, he isn’t a bankable actor and this is making things tough for his producers.

Alluri also stars Kayadu Lohar, Tanikella Bharani, Suman and Raja Ravindra in key roles. Pradeep Varma is the director and Bekkam Venu Gopal is the producer.
