The Russian dubbed version of the Malayalam film Valatty will be released in Russia on 25 April.
The Russian dubbed version is titled A Dog’s Escape.
The makers, Capella Films, launched a new trailer in Russian. This is the first Malayalam movie to have secured distribution by a Russian company for a theatrical release in the Russian language.
The distribution deal was syndicated by Indywood Distribution Network.
Released on 23 July 2023, Valatty is an adventure-comedy romance film written and directed by Devan and produced by Friday Film House.
Upon its release, the film received a good reception from critics and audiences.
The makers claimed that Valatty is the first Indian film to use real dogs as actors without VFX. The movie has also used AI technology to make dogs talk.
Mainstream Malayalam actors — Roshan Mathew, Raveena Ravi, Soubin Shahir, Sunny Wayne, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese — lent their voices to the dogs and other animals.
Valatty is an experimental movie that portrays that dogs do have feelings. It is also vocal about the stray dog menace and how humans deal with the problem without any proper mandate.
