RRR wins Hollywood Critics and Atlanta Film Critics Circle awards

The movie bagged the Hollywood Critics Association's Spotlight Winner Award and AFCC's Best International Feature Award.

HCA spotlight winner award for RRR

Continuing its dream run, maverick director SS Rajamouli’s RRR movie bagged the prestigious Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Award.

The HCA jury late on Monday, 5 December, announced the Spotlight Winner Award for the RRR’s cast and crew. The film has been winning the hearts of film lovers and critics globally.

The HCA is a film body that consists of movie analysts and critics based out of Los Angeles, California.

“The cast and crew of the RRR movie will be the recipient of this year’s HCA Spotlight Winner Award. We can’t wait to celebrate these artists and more at the 6th Annual HCA Film Awards,” announced the HCA on its official Twitter handle, after choosing the Indian film for the coveted honour.

Besides the Spotlight Winner Award, the HCA announced the Best Film Making Achievement award for Hollywood filmmaker Rian Johnson and the Acting Achievement award for actress Angela Bassett.


These awards will be presented during the 6th Annual Hollywood Critics Association Awards ceremony to be held in Los Angeles on 24 February, 2023.

The film also bagged the Best International Feature award at the Atlanta Film Critics Circle (AFCC). Rajamouli recently won the Best Director award at the New York Film Critic Circle.

AFCC is a 25-member group of Atlanta-based film critics founded in 2017.


As soon as the news of RRR bagging the awards was out, wishes have been pouring in for the film’s team.

Fans and followers of Rajamouli, Ram Charan and NTR are flooding social media with celebratory messages, making it trending on Twitter.


Along with south Indian stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan, RRR also features Bollywood stars Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt in key roles.

Owing to the Bollywood stars’ presence, RRR got pan-Indian reach. With director Rajamouli’s well-crafted global campaign, it is now gaining popularity globally.
