Ravi Teja's Eagle release postponed

Ravi Teja’s Eagle, originally scheduled for release on 13 January, has now been officially postponed.

The decision has been made with the broader interest of the film industry in mind as a slew of big-budget films are competing at the box office this festive season in January.

Prominent producer Dil Raju, who is also the president of the Telugu Film Chamber, made this announcement on Thursday, 4 January.

Dil Raju said, “We held a meeting with the producers of the movies that are releasing this Sankranthi, a few days ago. We explained to them the current situation and how the release of five films simultaneously could impact overall revenues. People Media Factory and Ravi Teja garu understood this and agreed to postpone the release of Eagle to a later date.”

The producers of Hanu-Man, Saindhav, Naa Saami Ranga, and Guntur Kaaram’s Nizam region distributor Dil Raju thanked the makers of Eagle — TG Vishwa Prasad, Vivek Kuchibotla, and Ravi Teja  for their cooperation.

Dil Raju explained that this decision was taken in the best interest of the film industry and hence, it should not be seen negatively.

He also maintained that he would allocate a solo release for Eagle. The movie will now be released on 9 February.

“Already, we have communicated with the Tillu Square team as their film is also scheduled for the same date in February. Producer Naga Vamsi has agreed to postpone their film. We will soon engage in discussions with the producer of Yatra 2 to ensure a solo release for Ravi Teja’s film. I urge the media not to portray this situation negatively. What we have done is for the betterment of the Telugu Film Industry,” Dil Raju added.
