Actor Rashmika Mandanna is riding high on a string of consecutive hits.
Her latest blockbuster Animal has been a major success, turning heads at the box office with a collection exceeding more than ₹500 crore gross.
And now, the actor has embarked on a new project titled The Girlfriend.
Touted to be a female-oriented story, the film is being helmed by actor-turned-director Rahul Ravindran, known for the National Award-winning film Chi La Sow (2018).
The shooting of the movie began in Hyderabad on Wednesday, 6 December. A few intro scenes of Rashmika Mandanna were shot in a college near Gachibowli.
Rashmika’s look from the film was also dropped by the makers. Dressed in a Salwar Kameez, the actor looked elegant in a no-makeup look.
Director Rahul Ravindran joined hands with producer Allu Aravind, Mass Movie Makers, and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment for this project.
Allu Aravind graced the sets on the first day of the shoot and wished the team.
The first schedule will last for 20 days and will have key actors in addition to Rashmika Mandanna.
Krishnan Vasant is the cinematographer. Musical sensation Hesham Abdul Wahab is the composer.
The already-released sneak peek promises that the film will showcase the actor in a new avatar, and we need to see how Rahul showcases her in The Girlfriend.
