Prithviraj Sukumaran injured during ‘Vilayath Buddha’ shoot, undergoes surgery, advised rest

The Malayalam actor was shooting a fight scene on a bus at Marayoor in the Idukki district when he fell down and was badly hurt.

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran sustained injuries while he was shooting for his new movie Vilayath Buddha. The actor was shooting a fight scene on a bus at Marayoor in the Idukki district when he fell down and got injured.

According to reports, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors suggested that the actor be transferred to Kochi for further treatment. The actor was immediately shifted to Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi where he underwent a keyhole surgery today, 26 June.

Prithviraj has been advised to take rest for a month along with physiotherapy sessions, given the nature of his injury,

The makers planned to wrap up the shooting by this month-end. But since Prithviraj Sukumaran will have to take some rest, the shoot will be temporarily halted.

Vilayath Buddha is directed by Jayan Nambiyar. It revolves around a dispute between the two main characters over a sandalwood tree.

The film also has Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan in prominent roles.

Prithviraj has a slew of projects in the pipeline. He will be seen as a baddie in the high-octane Bollywood action movie  Bade Miyan Chote Miyan along with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. It will be released next year.

He will also be doing a negative role in Prasanth Neel’s Telugu movie Salaar starring Prabhas.

In Malayalam, Prithviraj has his highly-anticipated movie Aadujeevitham as his next outing. Next year, the actor will direct Empuraan, the sequel to Mohanlal’s Lucifer (2019).

Prithviraj took to his Facebook to confirm the accident news and thanked the well-wishers.
