Director Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898-AD is unarguably the most anticipated release of the year.
On Wednesday, 22 May, the makers of the Prabhas-starrer gave audiences a glimpse of the film’s scale and vision when they unveiled a key character from the movie at a grand event in Hyderabad.
Thousands of Prabhas’s fans assembled at the venue (Ramoji Film City) to witness what was truly a one-of-its-kind event.
In Kalki 2898-AD, Prabhas plays a character called Bhairava. His best friend is a futuristic custom-made car called Bujji.
After introducing key characters from the film over the last few months, the makers unveiled Bujji at a special event organised in Hyderabad to give fans a close look at the high-tech robot vehicle.
Following the launch, the makers also released a special video that focuses on the bond between Bhairava and Bujji.
Prabhas made a grand entry to the event in Bujji, literally crashing through a huge wall.
As over 20,000 fans watched and cheered for Prabhas, the Rebel Star drove his best friend (Bujji) like it was a vehicle he had been driving for many years.
Bujji, a futuristic robot car, is voiced by Keerthy Suresh. As per Nag Ashwin, Bujji travels throughout the film with Prabhas’s character (Bhairava) and it will be a character the audience would fall in love with.
Going by the introduction video of Bujji, it looks like he (the swanky car) and Bhairava would go on a mission together in the film. Towards the end of the video, we hear Prabhas wholeheartedly express, “Love you, Bujji”.
Kalki 2898-AD will be released in two parts with the first part gearing up for release on 27 June.
The film, tipped to be made on a massive budget, features Kamal Haasan as the antagonist.
While he will be seen playing a 15-minute cameo in the first part, it’s in the second part he will appear for over an hour.
Also starring Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles, Kalki 2898-AD has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
