Mahi V Raghav's directorial explores the grit and determination of YS Jagan in fulfilling his father's visions for the welfare of the people.
Yatra 2 is one of the much-awaited films of the year as it explores one of the greatest comebacks in Telugu political history — YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh late YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Mahi V Raghav’s directorial explores the grit and determination of YS Jagan in fulfilling his father’s visions for the welfare of the people.
All the key characters from Yatra 2 have already been disclosed by the makers.
Actor Jiiva will portray YS Jagan, while Mammootty will be seen as YS Rajasekhara Reddy, along with Ketaki Narayan as YS Bharathi, Mahesh Manjrekar as Chandrababu Naidu, and Susanne Bennett as Sonia Gandhi.
However, the roles of Pawan Kalyan, YS Sharmila, and Nara Lokesh have been a point of discussion on social media. It is learnt that none of their characters will be present in the film.
Director Raghav is clear about his vision of showcasing Yatra 2 only about the journey of YS Jagan without deviating from the core point of Jagan’s fight to keep the promise made by his father and the emotional dimension of a father-son relationship. Mahi seemed to have felt focusing on multiple characters might dilute the plot.
While Yatra (2019) deals with the walkathon of iconic leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Yatra 2 depicts the journey of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from 2009-19. A recently released glimpse of Yatra 2 has further heightened the anticipation about the film.
