Dileep’s comedy-drama Pavi Caretaker (2024), which hit theatres earlier this year, is set to stream on ManoramaMAX, starting 6 September. The official announcement was made on the film’s Instagram account, accompanied by a poster and the release date.
Pavi Caretaker was initially scheduled for an earlier OTT release, but it faced delays for unknown reasons.
Upon its theatrical release, this one received mixed reviews. Pavi Caretaker sees Dileep return to his comedic roots under the direction of Vineeth Kumar, who delivered a decent comedy entertainer.
The cast includes Vineeth Kumar, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Johny Antony, Deepu G Panicker, Swathi Konde, Spadikam George, Jinu Ben, Shreya Rukmini, and Dilina Ramakrishnan, among others.
Written by Rajesh Raghavan, the film was produced by Dileep under his Grand Production banner, with cinematography by Sanu Thahir and editing by Deepu Joseph.

Currently, Dileep is working on the mass entertainer Bha Bha Bha, directed by debutant Dhananjay Shankar and produced by Sree Gokulam Movies. The film is scripted by Fahim Safar and Noorin Shereef, marking Noorin’s debut as a writer, while Fahim previously co-wrote the screenplay for Madhuram (2021).
The cast also includes Redin Kingsley, Malayalam actor-director Sidharth Bharathan, and Balu Varghese, hinting at another comedy hit.
Dileep’s 150th film, directed by debutant Binto Stephen, has also begun shooting. Expected to be a family entertainer, the movie is produced by Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames.
After a string of flops, including Thankamani (2024) and Bandra (2023), Dileep needs a hit to regain his standing with the family audience that once supported his films.
In 2017, a Malayalam actor was abducted and allegedly sexually assaulted in a moving vehicle in Kochi, an incident that shook the Malayalam film industry and sparked a series of events leading to its long-overdue #MeToo moment seven years later.
The assault case, which implicated top industry star Dileep, marked a turning point in Mollywood.
Dileep, eventually named in the chargesheet, faced ongoing legal battles, including a 2022 case for allegedly threatening the investigating officer.
The incident also prompted several actresses to speak out against the industry’s deep-rooted misogyny, leading to the formation of the Justice Hema Committee to investigate these issues.
