The Union government has conferred the prestigious Padma Vibhushan Award upon Megastar Chiranjeevi for his invaluable contributions to the Telugu film industry.
In 2006, the Megastar was honoured with Padma Bhushan.
As the news spread, not just Mega fans but the celebrities in the Telugu film industry started extending wishes to Chiranjeevi on social media.
In a video message, Chiranjeevi said, “The moment the Padma Vibhushan award came… I really didn’t know what to say and how to react. I am truly happy to be awarded Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award in our country.”
The iconic star credited his success to the unwavering support of millions of fans and referred to them as his extended family.
The Waltair Veerayya (2023) actor added, “I am at this position today because of the blessings of crores of people who consider me as their elder brother, their son. The support of my Tollywood family, as well as the love and support of millions of fans who follow me like a shadow, has been invaluable and priceless. That honour and credit goes to them. What can I repay for the love and affection you have shown me? In my 45 years of film career, I have tried my best to entertain through diverse roles on the silver screen.”
He also thanked the Government of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for selecting him for the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award.
