One song from ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ to open in Malayalam as tribute to Kerala fans: Allu Arjun

In the film directed by Sukumar, Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil is set to play the role of an antagonist, opposite Allu Arjun.

Actor Allu Arjun is busy promoting his upcoming film Pushpa 2: The Rule across India. On Wednesday, 27 November, the film team, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, attended an event in Kochi, Kerala.

Allu Arjun speaking to the audience at the event, said that one song in Pushpa 2 will have starting lyrics in Malayalam. “Though the film is releasing in all six languages, this song’s initial lyrics will be in Malayalam only. This is my tribute to all my fans in Kerala,” he added.

While Pushpa 2: The Rule is anticipated across India, the movie is more prominent in Kerala. Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil plays the role of an antagonist and Allu Arjun is popular even in Kerala, where he is referred to endearingly as “M”Allu Arjun.

‘Worked with the biggest Malayalam actor’

Speaking about Fahadh Faasil, Allu Arjun said, “For the first time, I have acted with one of the biggest Malayalam actors, Fahadh Faasil. He has done a fantastic job in the movie. I wish he was also there today, and it would have been an iconic moment.”

He further thanked the whole team for putting all their efforts behind the project. “I take this opportunity to thank Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) who has given me wonderful songs such as from Bunny, Pushpa and many others too,” he added.

“Three years is a long time and I will make sure that I will keep my fans entertained throughout and won’t take such big gaps in doing films,” Allu Arjun promised.

Recalling his bond with Kerala, Allu Arjun, thanked Director Sukumar, for giving him Arya (2004), which was the first film that was budded and released in Kerala. “It was a super hit in Kerala and I had a market in the state after that. After that now Pushpa 2 is releasing and the love of fans in Kerala is truly overwhelming and special.”

On Rashmika Mandanna

He thanked his co-star Rashmika Mandanna for supporting him throughout, saying on a lighter note, “The national crush, Rashmika will crush the entire nation this time, after the release of the movie.”

At the event, Rashmika noted, “I saw the huge gathering outside the airport and understood the gravity of Keralite’s love for Allu Arjun.”

“Allu Arjun Sir was very supportive of me during the shooting. He had taken care of me and I hope the movie will be loved by all,” she added.

Allu Arjun’s portrayal of the defiant Pushpa Raj became a fan favourite, leaving a lasting impact on pop culture with its memorable dialogues, music, and style.

Originally scheduled for Independence Day, 15 August, the release date of Pushpa 2: The Rule was postponed to 5 December.

Pushpa: The Rise, dubbed into multiple Indian languages, became the highest-grossing movie of 2021 in India and marked the first time a Telugu actor (Allu Arjun) won the Best Actor award at the National Film Awards.
