After backing out from the Sankranthi fray, the upcoming action potboiler starring Ravi Teja — Eagle has secured a solo release date on 9 February.
It is speculated that the movie did not clinch an OTT deal due to the intense competition during the festive period.
Meanwhile, the non-theatrical business and the OTT negotiations of Eagle are still pending.
Ravi Teja would have recovered the entire budget of Eagle through non-theatrical business. But the performance of Ravi Teja’s films at the box office the previous year was below par.
As a result, it seems that the non-theatrical market for Eagle has proven challenging.
With no option left for the makers, it is learnt that Eagle is being evaluated based on its theatrical potential.
Eagle is a Telugu-language action thriller film written, directed, and edited by Karthik Gattamneni. He earlier directed Surya vs Surya (2015).
It is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla under People Media Factory.
Apart from Ravi Teja, the Telugu film has Anupama Parameswaran, Madhoo Shah, Kavya Thapar, Srinivas Avasarala, Navdeep, and Ajay Ghosh in key roles.
