The actor sent a legal notice to Kannada producers MN Kumar and MN Suresh for making baseless allegations against him.

On 8 July, Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep sent a legal notice to producers MN Kumar and MN Suresh over a series of allegations made against him by the duo.
Today, 10 July, he wrote a detailed letter addressing the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) where he made it clear why he was determined to approach the court for justice in the matter.
“I am writing to you (KFCC) not as an actor, producer, director, lyricist, and so on, but as a great admirer of the prestigious Kannada film industry and the work done by the film body in upholding and protecting the interest of the industry for over the years,” he said in his letter to the film body.
While noting the recent allegations made against him by producer Kumar, the multilingual actor expressed deep concern as to why the body failed to verify the proofs before taking up the matter.
“I understand that the film body has taken up the matter following a producer knocking the doors for justice, but I fail to understand why it has not verified the facts before someone is making a series of illegal and false allegations,” Kiccha Sudeep noted.

Sudeep, who recently completed 27 years in the film industry, said he did his best to help as many artists, filmmakers and technicians over these years.
In his letter to the KFCC, the actor said, “Producer MN Kumar met me on several occasions in the past. We shared a good relationship and hence, out of sympathy, I did my best to help him, but circumstances could not allow me to do so. However, when he started spreading false allegations against me, I stopped meeting him.”
After the allegations started making rounds, the actor stayed away from the producer. But he was in utter shock and disgust when MN Kumar held a press conference making serious false allegations.
“As far as ‘negotiation’ attempts are concerned, I do not understand what it means in this matter. Does it mean forcibly getting money from me for all hardships faced by the producer for no fault of mine? It will lead to a dangerous trend. Hence, I stand by my decision to approach the court, seeking justice in the matter,” Kiccha Sudeep asserted.
The Kannada superstar pointed out that he lived with utmost dignity since his entry into films.
“A lot of producers are yet to honour their agreements in my case, too. Some of them have remained aloof and some never responded over the dues to be paid to me for my hard work,” he remarked.
Sudeep further added, “Even I could have approached the film body, but I never did so because the industry stands on the ‘words’. Now that the producer has made a serious false allegation against me that I have taken full amount to work in his film, I choose to approach the court as it solely questions my integrity and unblemished career.”
Regarding producer MN Suresh, who claimed that MN Kumar attempted suicide in the past and Kiccha Sudeep would be solely responsible if the producer (Kumar) ever resort to such an extreme step, the actor said: “MN Suresh and I share a good relationship, but I was deeply pained when he said that I will be responsible for the consequences if Kumar takes any drastic steps in future.”
Also, he clarified, “I have two elders at home. Such statements have far-reaching effects. I cannot let go of such false and far-from-truth allegations, and hence I had to send the legal notice to Suresh, too.”
Further, Sudeep urged the KFCC to verify facts and proofs without fail before taking up any matter against anyone in the industry.
He also asked the KFCC not to resort to any kind of pressure tactics in his case, as he is determined to approach the court, where he will accept whatever order the court passes in his case with utmost respect and sincerity.
