After making a splash in the OTT space with the web series Muddapappu Avakai (2016) under her home banner Pink Elephant Pictures LLP, Niharika Konidela is all set to test the waters of mainstream theatrical film.
The daughter of actor Naga Babu launched a new film titled Committee Kurrallu which is being produced under her production house.
Committee Kurrallu was formally launched with a pooja ceremony at Annapurna Studios here in the city of Hyderabad on Friday, 10 November.
Niharaika Konidela’s actor-brother Varun Tej gave the clap for the muhurat shot, while her father Naga Babu cranked the camera, and director Venky Kudumula did the honours for the first scene.
Committee Kurrallu features a host of newbies, including Sandeep Saroj, Yashwant Pendyala, Trinath Verma, Prasad Behara, Ishwar Rachiraju, Manikantha Parasu, Lokesh Kumar Parimi, Shyam Kalyan, Raghuvaran, Sivakumar Matta, Akshay Srinivas, Sharanya Suresh, Tejaswi Rao, Vishika, and Shanmuki Nagumanthri.
On the occasion, producer Niharika Konidela expressed her delight at expanding Pink Elephant Pictures from web series and short films to their inaugural feature film, jointly produced with Sriradha Damodar Studios.
New entrant Yadu Vamsi is marking his directorial debut with the project.
Vamsi emphasised the banner’s transition from concept-driven content to a full-length feature, introducing a significant number of new talents. He also conveyed his determination to live up to the opportunity and sought the audience’s encouragement.
Anudeep, who made a shift from a singer to a music director, expressed happiness for composing songs for the film and acknowledged the trust placed in him by producer Niharika and director Yadu Vamsi.
Cinematographer Raju Edurolu, in his second collaboration with Niharika Konidela, expressed gratitude for the compelling script and the chance provided by Vamsi, lauding the cast and crew.
