Gautham Menon, who is directing the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, clarified that the film is not a wedding shoot. The documentary is being produced by Vignesh and Nayanthara’s Rowdy Pictures.

In an interview, Gautham Menon said that the forthcoming Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale is not all about the wedding shoot of Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan that took place at Hotel Sheraton Grand in Mahabalipuram in June.

In fact, the documentary justifies why Nayanthara is called ‘Lady Superstar’. It tracks down her life in various schools across India (she being the daughter of a military officer had moved from one cantonment to another). It will also deal with her entry into films, her rise as a superstar and also her love story with Vignesh, Menon informed.

Meanwhile, South First spoke to wedding photographers and event managers. The wedding invites had a QR code which was scanned at the gate before allowing the invitee inside the venue. All security and event management personnel had to hand over their phones before taking up their jobs, they said.

A sticker was attached to the camera on every mobile phone of the invitees. This helped trace the IMEI code of the devices and send an alert when the sticker was removed to record the wedding proceedings at the venue, the sources revealed.

They stated that they had a tough time managing the paparazzi who hovered outside the hotel gates with zoom lenses to capture the wedding proceedings. Another issue was asking the VIPs to hand over their mobile phones. While a few VIPs attended the wedding, actors like Vijay and Ajith attended the dinner.

To cut short outside staff and retailers from entering the venue, everything from drinking water to ice-creams was specially made and packaged under the ‘Vikki weds Nayan’ brand name.

Currently, Nayan and Vignesh are honeymooning in Dubai. Vignesh will direct Ajith’s next film. Nayanthara’s next release is Chiranjeevi-starrer Godfather. She is also part of Shah Rukh Khan’s Hindi film directed by Atlee. She is expected to shoot a song sequence directed by Lalitha Shobi in Chennai with SRK.

Ajith’s AK61 titled Thunivu

The makers of Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar’s upcoming film AK61 revealed its title and, the first and second looks on social media on Wednesday and Thursday, 21 and 22 September.

The film has been titled Thunivu. It is being directed by H Vinoth and produced by the Bay View Projects banner. Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor are presenting this bank robbery story inspired by a real-life incident. Ghibran is the music director.

While the movie’s shooting is expected to be wrapped by November, it is likely to be released in early 2023. Thunivu features Manju Warrier, Smuthirakani, Ajay, Veera, John Kokken and Cibi Chandran in key roles.

Boney Kapoor’s tweet revealing the first look of Ajith from Thunivu went viral in minutes. It got over 1 lakh likes and 9,000 comments in the past 21 hours. On Thursday, Ajith’s manager Suresh Chandra posted the second look of the actor from the flick which is trending on Twitter.
