On the occasion of her birthday, actor Nayanthara on Monday, 18 November, announced her next movie through her social media handles.
This time the “Lady Superstar” is collaborating with first-time filmmaker Senthil Nallasamy for a female-oriented action thriller Rakkayie.
Sharing the title of the film, the actor also shared a short teaser. The teaser opens with Nayanthara grinding chillies with a child crying in the background.
On the other hand, a group of men charge at Nayanthara’s house. The actor then quickly feeds the child and goes into fighter mode, fighting the men with a makeshift weapon. Later she also uses the chilli power she grounded on the attacking men.
Vedikkaranpatti S Sakthivel and Aditya Pittie are producing Rakkayie under the Drumsticks Productions and MovieVerse Studios banners, respectively. Rakkayie’s technical crew comprises music composer Govind Vasantha, cinematographer Gowtham Rajendran and editor Praveen Antony. The other cast is not yet revealed.
Along with Tamil, Rakkayie will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
“In a land where justice is but a memory… There lived a mother whose world was her child… But when her daughter’s life is threatened by a monster… She does not flee… she does not falter… Instead, she declares war,” Nayanthara’s post read.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s wedding documentary Nayanthara — Beyond the Fairytale has been released on Netflix. Prior to its release, the documentary was marred with controversies, as Nayanthara penned an open letter against actor Dhanush for not letting them use clips from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, produced by Dhanush.
She further revealed that they have been requesting Dhanush to let them use the songs from the 2015 film for two years. Nayanthara however stated that Dhanush has refused to give the No Objection Certificate.
In the missive published on her Instagram account, the “Lady Superstar” said that despite being a self-made woman, and making a mark for herself in the industry with her work and ethics, she faced multiple challenges while making the documentary.
