Nata Bhayankara review: Neither comedy nor horror but a senseless ‘waste of time’!

Watch this film at your own risk. Full of errors, it is easily one of the most unbearable movies to experience in recent times.

  • Director: Pratham

  • Runtime: 2 hours 27 minutes

For a change, and more importantly, to save time and energy, I would first answer the most important question from an audience’s perspective: Should one watch Nata Bhayankara or just simply skip it for their own good?

The answer is: Skip it!

Directed by Pratham, Nata Bhayankara also casts him as the male lead.

Now, let’s dive into why the film is an unbearable experience that lasts for over two-and-a-half hours.

Even those who dare to watch masterpieces like these might want to let it go in the first place.

However, after fortunately surviving to tell the tale, it is still a challenge for me to talk about it.

Words simply fail to do justice to express this cinematic torture!

Talking about torture, the film qualifies to be used in a unique form in whatever situation for the best possible results.

A comedy of errors

Pratham, who is known for his outspoken personality in real life, makes a futile attempt to replicate it on the big screen.

As a result, the movie is jam-packed with the actor-director’s self-aggrandisement.

The only respite an audience can find in the film is the presence of a few senior actors.

However, their presence pales in comparison to that of Pratham. It is his show all the way!

A horrific tale

The so-called story in Nata Bhayankara is so outdated that it would be termed “old wine in an old (not new) bottle” even if released a decade ago.

It is about a superstar who ends up in a farmhouse with a group comprising his assistant, a heroine, and an assistant director.

By the way, the farmhouse is haunted by a female ghost. It is no different from that of 99.99 percent of ghosts in movies that come with an act of revenge.

The act and the acting are the other major factors that make it difficult to bear the done-to-death instant-mix formula for a horror-comedy movie.

Finally, The End!
